Anita Osterhaug

Anita Osterhaug is an editor emerita of Handwoven magazine. An author and journalist, she studied history and anthropology at Reed College. She loves to explore the art and culture of traditional societies and the wisdom and benefits that they bring to modern life.

Anita is devoted to textiles, and her skills include embroidery, knitting, weaving, spinning, felting, and dyeing. Her focus on Scandinavian textiles is extensive, from childhood knitting and embroidery lessons with her Norwegian aunt and grandmother to study programs at Vesterheim Museum, the Norwegian Textile Guild, and the National Nordic Museum, classes in Scandinavia, and her own research.
